We are confident that you will enjoy your farm-stay experience but requires certain responsibilities on your part:-

  • You are responsible for locking the entries/exits to the cottages/farmhouse and turn off the lights when you leave the premises, whether for an outing or departure – reducing the use of unnecessary power and further minimising our carbon footprint.

  • Please monitor guests and avoid damage or accidents. All breakages or defects should be reported promptly.

  • Items from the cottages must not be removed at any time. Unless pre-arranged, please bring your own towels and linen for personal use (additional linen fees apply). Blankets, quilts and pillows are provided.

  • The accommodation will be of a high standard of cleanliness upon your arrival, and your co-operation in leaving it that way would be greatly appreciated. Therefore, maintaining general cleanliness of the cottage or farmhouse is the responsibility of the guests. If this is not met on inspection, the bond may be withheld, and additional cleaning charges will apply.

  • Under no circumstances are fires/bonfires to be lit on the property. Fires only to be lit in the combustion fireplace provided. Please observe all fire bans declared by authorities during the summer period.

  • Vehicles must keep to the roads and not enter any other paddock area. The speed limit is 20 km/p/h. Definitely, no trail bike, quad bike or off-road riding/driving is permitted anywhere on the property. Please also note that due to safety, motorised/powered watercraft such as jet skis are not permitted on the river beach.

  • Water supply principally relies on rainwater, and guests are asked not to waste this precious resource. Please limit showers to a maximum of 3 minutes. Council regulations do not allow any blow-up pools or clamshells.

  • Toilets are connected to a septic system, so please do not flush non-biodegradable material—no ‘flushable’ wipes in toilets.

  • Farmstay outdoor play equipment must only be used by young children and whilst under adult supervision.
Any accident sustained from the use of the play equipment is the responsibility of the user.

  • Please ensure that gas bottles are turned off after use, not left in the open position (gas leaks, especially in the summer heat), creating a potentially dangerous situation. Use of cottage or farmhouse pots and pans on the barbecue is prohibited.

  • We have provided placemats, coasters and stands for hot foods and would appreciate you using them on the benchtops or wooden tables. We have also provided a large chopping/cutting board and ask you to use this, not the benches or tables.

Terms & Conditions - Horse stay & play

In addition to the terms and conditions above please note that you agree to the following:

    however caused.

Children's safety on the farm
SAFETY OF YOUNG CHILDREN ON THE FARM

Parents and carers of young children, particularly those under five years, must be especially vigilant during your stay on Mogendoura Farm. Without trying to alarm you there are many sources of potential danger for young children on farms.

Typically farms have livestock, machinery and a range of natural hazards, particularly water. The Royal Life Saving Society Australia recommends creating special enclosures inside or close to the house ‘to fence in the child’ but with the size and nature of our holiday accommodation this is not practical and it is not feasible to fence off all the outside dangers.

Constant parental supervision is essential with all young children, please.

You should note the following within proximity of the farm accommodation:

Farmhouse:

1. River banks – within 200m

2. Water feature – located in the courtyard. (A temporary fence is available for erecting around the water feature during your stay – please ask us in advance to set this up).

3. Machinery sheds with tractor and mowers – three sheds and loft within 100m

4. Water Dams – four dams including a duck pond – scattered throughout the property

5. Livestock water troughs – located along the fence-line of many paddocks

6. Barbed wire fences – barbed wire lines many of the paddocks

7. Temporary Puddles – following heavy rain puddles appear in low lying areas, on roads

Cottages:
  • Riverbanks – within 100m

  • Machinery sheds with tractor and mowers – three sheds and loft within 100m

  • Water Dams – four dams including a duck pond – scattered throughout the property

  • Livestock water troughs – located along the fence-line of many paddocks

  • Barbed wire fences – barbed wire lines many of the paddocks

  • Temporary Puddles – following heavy rain puddles appear in low lying areas, on roads

  • Dense bushland – fairly dense bush is located about 50m behind the cottages which lead down to the river (100m)

Being the bush there are also residents including snakes and spiders. Please keep an eye out for these and avoid them if possible. They will be more afraid of you so please just let them pass.

First Aid kits are available in each cottage and farmhouse – these are located in the kitchen drawers.

Knowledge of First Aid is useful for everyone and we know that high-quality courses are available through Royal Life Saving. Safety Fact Sheets on a range of subjects are available for download from www.royallifesaving.com.au

Phone numbers for Medical and Emergency Services including local doctors and ambulance are listed in the Guest Handbook.

Safety is so important and we encourage you to be aware of and keep your child safe from any potential danger.

Please ensure you watch over your children at all times.
